Daily Feldenkrais classes direct students’ attention to the process of movement, enabling more effective patterning and coordination. Students learn an awareness of how they move and the possibilities to think simply and creatively around developing fine motor control.

The Summer School, founded in 2003, takes place over two weeks in mid January. QVSS is a fully residential programme - providing a unique study opportunity solely focused on solo performance for highly talented young violinists. QVSS is a challenging and supportive learning environment where students work intensively with specialist professionals. In addition to providing advanced music tuition, QVSS helps students understand that motivation, focus, and strength of character are values as crucial to musical success as talent.

The previous six Summer Schools were unequivocal successes. Students were selected by audition from applicants coming from throughout New Zealand and overseas. QVSS students have been selected for international music conservatories and music festivals, as well as the New Zealand Youth Orchestra. Student successes also include solo performances with leading New Zealand Orchestras, numerous appearances in the finals of the Chamber Music New Zealand Chamber Music Contest and winners of the National Concerto Competition.
